Since 1976 we have connected visitors to the park through in-depth educational experiences, helping to cultivate current and future stewards of Yellowstone National Park. Field Seminars
Our world-class field seminars examine specific aspects of the park ecosystem through a combination of fun field excursions and presentations. Our seminar leaders are experts in their fields and include professors, naturalists, scientists, and acclaimed photographers, writers, historians, and artists. Most programs are based at the Lamar Buffalo Ranch.

These programs, offered in partnership with Yellowstone National Park Lodges, are based at park hotels and taught by Institute field educators who are intimately familiar with Yellowstone. Join us as we explore the stunning northern range and the park’s iconic Lamar Valley, home to a diverse array of wildlife including bears, elk, bison, wolves, bighorn sheep, moose, and pronghorn. Our high-powered optics will allow you to feel up close and personal with these magnificent animals as we observe them in their natural habitats.

Each Naturalist Day Hike takes advantage of the extensive hiking trails found throughout Yellowstone National Park by showcasing a different trail each day. Hikes are led by a Yellowstone Forever naturalist who will provide a guided experience that will emphasize seasonal highlights. Hikes will be taken at a rather leisurely pace to ensure we optimize wildlife sightings and take the time to smell the flowers!

Request FormSTEAM Teacher Workshops
The STEAM Teacher Workshop is taught collaboratively between Yellowstone Forever and National Park Service. These workshops are designed to help teachers discover innovative ways to incorporate STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) into their classrooms. With Yellowstone National Park as the classroom, participants will learn how to use both traditional and innovative methods to incorporate art into STEM lessons.
